About DevCheatSheet.com

What is a "cheat sheet"?

According to Wikipedia, "A cheat sheet or crib sheet is a concise set of notes used for quick reference." ... "In more general usage, a 'cheat sheet' is any short (one or two page) reference to terms, commands, or symbols where the user is expected to understand the use of such terms etc but not necessarily to have memorized all of them."

Cheat sheets are wonderful resources for developers. They make it easy to find the correct syntax, command, or keyboard shortcut that you often forget. Cheat sheets are especially useful when you are learning a new programming language or framework, since they condense the essential parts of the manual into just a couple pages. So stop memorizing and start using cheat sheets.

Cheat sheets (often spelled "cheatsheets") are known by many different names including: quick reference cards, quick reference guides, reference cards, refcards, refsheets, quickrefs, quicksheets, helpsheets, or crib sheets.

Background Info

This site was created in 2009 by Tim Church. Every blog seemed to be doing its own "cheat-sheet roundup", but there was no good directory site for cheatsheets. Finding good reference cards was a challenge because Google often gives mediocre results (probably due to the many different names/keywords for cheat sheets). Devcheatsheet.com was created to fill this void and simplify the process of finding the best cheat sheets on the web.

DevCheatSheet is a Django app hosted by Web Faction.
